KNCV representative in Kyrgyzstan
Dr. Bakyt Myrzaliev holds an M.D. degree in General Medicine from Kyrgyz State Medical Academy and has a PhD from the National TB center on TB Diagnostics. Bakyt is a native Kyrgyz and Russian speaker. He is an experienced public health professional with 19 years of experience in TB control with progressive responsibility. Bakyt’s combined experience includes key management positions at the National TB Center in the capacity of Deputy General Director and Head of National Reference Lab.
As country representative KNCV Bakyt leads the USAID-funded TB CARE and Challenge TB programs in the Kyrgyz Republic since 2011. He provided successful programmatic implementation of the new TB drugs BDQ, DEL, shortened MDR TB treatment regimen and soluble paediatric TB drugs with aDSM. Currently Bakyt is working on a BPaL bridging project to introduce it in the Kyrgyz Republic. Bakyt is also member of the UNION, CCM and KNCV Treatment and Care Task Force group.
