Jerod Scholten, MPH, DSc
Jerod Scholten is trained as an epidemiologist. He has worked in TB control for over 20 years in the Americas, Africa, Europe and Asia.
Jerod Scholten provides technical assistance with an emphasis on monitoring and evaluation, laboratory and diagnostic strengthening, operational research, strategic planning (including overall TB control and TB laboratory-specific), TB/HIV control, infection control and programmatic management of multidrug-resistant TB.
He has successfully supported Global Fund applications in Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda, Suriname, and Swaziland. He was the lead writer of the TB CARE I Practical Handbook for National TB Laboratory Strategic Plan Development which has been endorsed by the Global Laboratory Initiative. Other projects include supporting a national drug resistance survey in Zimbabwe. He is currently designated technical focal point for Nigeria and Tanzania. He is the technical coordinator for the laboratory services strengthening cluster at KNCV.
