KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against tuberculosis (TB). KNCV is the lead partner in Challenge TB, the new USAID-funded 5-year global program. We lead an international consortium comprising eight partner organizations in addition to KNCV: ATS, FHI 360, IRD, JATA, MSH, PATH, The Union, and WHO. In Ethiopia, Challenge TB is being implemented by KNCV as a lead and MSH and WHO as a collaborating partner. The strategic objectives of Challenge TB are to improve access to patient care, to prevent transmission and disease progression, and to strengthen TB platforms.
Challenge TB-Ethiopia operates from a central office in Addis Ababa and two regional offices, one in Tigray and one in SNNPR. The project will expand to more regions in the near future.
KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is recruiting for the position of Finance Officer for its Challenge TB program in Ethiopia.
Purpose of the position
The Finance Officer supports the Finance Manager in all facets of financial management and reviews payment requests for completeness (supporting documentations); proper authorization; compliance to policies and procedures; reasonability of costs; and generally accepted accounting practices. The position holder prepares check and /or bank transfer letters based on authorized Bank Payment Vouchers, maintains register of paid check(s) and informs staff and customer when payments are ready and pays checks against collection of receipts and/or signature of recipients. The Finance Officer handles the proper central filling of all financial documents (CRVs, BPVs, JVs agreements); follow up through “borrowing” and return of financial documents through central “loan” register.
The Finance Officer reports to the Finance Manager.
Who are we looking for?
You have a diploma in Accounting, Finance, Management, Business Administration or equivalent. At least 6 years work experience in an international organization. You have experience working with donors, preferably with USAID-funded projects. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Demonstrated skills in MS Office, QuickBooks and or similar accounting software.
