KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against tuberculosis (TB). KNCV is the lead partner in Challenge TB, the new USAID-funded 5-year global program. We lead an international consortium comprising eight partner organizations in addition to KNCV: ATS, FHI 360, IRD, JATA, MSH, PATH, The Union, and WHO. In Ethiopia, Challenge TB is being implemented by KNCV as a lead and MSH and WHO as a collaborating partner. The strategic objectives of Challenge TB are to improve access to patient care, to prevent transmission and disease progression, and to strengthen TB platforms.
KNCV operates from a country office in Addis Ababa with sub-offices in other regional states.
KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is recruiting for the following positions for its Challenge TB project in Ethiopia.
Purpose of the position
The Regional TB Advisor will serve as the regional technical lead for KNCV/CTB and Gambella regional health bureau. The key TB technical support areas will include Universal DOTS expansion for drug sensitive and MDR TB, community TB, childhood TB, TB/HIV, TB Infection control activities and health systems strengthening. He/she will represent KNCV/Challenge TB in regional technical meetings, and will provide key technical coordination role in organizing trainings and continuing medical education for health workers in the region. He/she will also participate in the preparation of work plans, supportive supervisions, monitoring and evaluation, and operational research activities.
Who are we looking for
MD or MPH from recognized University, Postgraduate training in TB or HIV related field desired, 5+ years of experience is required, at least three of which should be in TB or HIV technical area. Experience as clinical mentor and TB/HIV advisor desired, hands-on experience in basic trainings in TB required, Previous experience with USAID supported, Operational Research experience, Ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with colleagues and partners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated leadership, and the ability to work collaboratively with culturally diverse partners, computer literacy; competency with Microsoft Office, internet and email systems. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
