A pilot study was conducted in Kazakhstan to assess the effects of introducing the Xpert MTB/RIF (Xpert) diagnostic test to detect tuberculosis (TB) and rifampicin resistant TB among individuals at risk of multidrug-resistant (MDR-)TB.
