Programmatic Management of MDR-TB

This document describes the steps necessary to implement the shorter regimen and the new drugs for drug-resistant TB treatment including diagnosis and bacterial confirmation of drug resistance, treatment regimen design, monitoring of treatment efficacy and safety, and programmatic evaluation.

This tool guides countries through the step-wise process of programmatic introduction of ND&R. It defines key activities meant to lead to national scale-up: political engagement, adaptation of national strategy and policies, site preparation, patient enrollment, and programmatic monitoring and evaluation.
