Digital Health Consultant

Kristian van Kalmthout has a Masters degree in Global Health and started working for KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation in 2015.

As digital health consultant he supports the implementation of digital health solutions in focus countries and help to create pathways for acceleration of applying digital health in project and programs. His main areas of interest and expertise are in the use of diagnostic connectivity solutions and digital adherence technologies (DATs).

He currently leads the Unitaid funded ASCENT project (http://www.digitaladherence.org) that aims to help patients succeed in TB treatment using digital adherence technology such as smart pill boxes, medication sleeves and video supported treatment. By generating evidence, establishing a global market and engaging stakeholders, ASCENT aims to make future scale up possible so that these digital innovations can be available to all TB patients worldwide.
