Edine Tiemersma

Senior Epidemiologist

Edine Tiemersma holds a doctorate in Epidemiologist and is senior epidemiologist with over 25 years professional experience working in infectious disease epidemiology, epidemiologic research and supporting and strengthening National Tuberculosis Programs.

Edine has published more than 40 articles on TB research, treatments, prevalence and control policies and practices. Currently a member of the WHO Global Task Force on TB impact measurement, Edine was also previously the coordinator of the European Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance System (EARSS) at the Unit for Epidemiology and Surveillance.

Within KNCV, Edine designs, performs and undertakes the analysis data generated by, operational research projects and surveillance systems in collaboration with KNCV’s international donors and partners. Edine also carries out impact assessments and economical evaluation research, and supervises PhD students.
