
While having worked as KNCV Country Director in Nigeria as well as Regional Coordinator TB in the Mines in South Africa between 2008 and 2013 Emmy van der Grinten re-joined KNCV in 2018. Since then she worked as Senior TB Officer and Deputy Project Director for the USAID Challenge TB Project.
Emmy is now working as the Technical Division Manager. I work together with the technical consultants to efficiently plan and implement projects. She supports the Technical Director with the coordination between project teams and technical task forces. In addition Emmy provides technical assistance to KNCV projects (BMGF NSP Project) and partners at country level.
Since the beginning of her career Emmy’s areas of focus have been tuberculosis, leprosy and neglected tropical diseases. She has experience in disease prevention and control, specifically programme management, routine surveillance (including GIS mapping), monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, partnership building and general technical assistance. Emmy has lived and worked in Africa for 20 years.
